PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

As part of our commitment to lifelong learning and the professionalism of our members, the IDIBC has offered a continuing education program since 2002, when a mandatory continuing education program was introduced for all registered members.

This was an important step in our development as a regulatory body for professional interior designers in addition to our ongoing pursuit of a practice act in the province of BC.

IDIBC adopted a harmonized CEU model for professional development in 2012, along with other provincial members of Interior Designers of Canada (IDC). This strengthens the profession nationally by ensuring all interior design professionals across Canada receive the same number and quantity of continuing education and professional development credits on an annual basis. Members report their CEUs (continuing education units) on IDCEC’s (Interior Design Continuing Education Council) online CEU logging system.
