IDIBC Emerging Professionals Design Charrette 2024 took place on February 15, at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
Emerging interior designers and design students from multiple schools connected with industry professionals, who provided them with industry insights and mentorship. This year, we were lucky to have a couple of returning students who were also able to provide experience and added knowledge.
At the Student Design Charrette, Interior Design students were invited from all schools to come together in teams to come up with creative solutions for a challenging design problem. Student teams completed visual presentations that showcased the design concept, layout, materials, and key features in a mock-up that was reviewed by qualified Registered Interior Designers. Winning teams receive prizes and congratulations on stage in front of 350 people at the SHINE Awards Gala.
